Brandnation Supports Talent at the First Blogosphere Blog Awards 2017

On the 22nd June a number of members of Brandnation’s Fashion PR, Beauty PR and Lifestyle PR teams were invited to attend Blogosphere Magazine’s first ever annual Blogosphere Blog Awards in Kensington.

It was an opportunity for team members to mingle with and support many of the bloggers that we at Brandnation have been working with for several years through our extensive blogger and influencer networks. Bloggers were nominated and voted for by other members of the blogging community, with the winners of each category being featured in issue 14 of the magazine, with the Blogosphere blogger of the year winner taking the front cover.

As you can expect the glamorous evening was awash with top bloggers, influencers and social savvy who came out in force to lend support to this new event. The evening celebrated the work of visionaries who by their own admission have carved careers out of having an idea and taking a leap into the unknown. It is these bloggers and influencers who are now shaping the PR landscape - becoming increasingly important voices for brands to leverage their key messages.

Danielle, of Someone’s Mum, took home the award for Parenting Blogger Of The Year after quitting her job as an English teacher in September 2016. “The pressures of having targets for things that were out of my control made me a nervous wreck and I wanted to spend more time with my children,” she told us. Danielle has two children, a boy aged four who is on the autistic spectrum, and a daughter, aged two. She continued: “I started writing about my son’s experience of getting into school and that’s when it really took off. I wish I had taken the leap years ago.”

Sophie Milner, of Fashion Slave, was awarded Fashion Blogger Of The Year and wasted no time in posing in front of the Kim Kardashian-inspired wall of roses framing the red carpet. A quick interlude and a performance by Electro Pop Artist Andrea Di Giovanni left us with goosebumps as we topped up on pink lemonade and tucked into mountains of lime-drenched smashed avocado.

Cat Meffan, whose impressive yoga journey has earned her a worthy fan following, picked up the award for Fitness Blogger Of The Year. The yoga teacher and sun worshipper was up against the likes of Zanna Van Dijk, Carly Rowena, The Runner Beans and Hannah Gets Hench in her category. Not one to shy away from an acceptance speech,

Kyle Galvin, who won Photography Blogger Of The Year, thanked blogger royalty Victoria Magrath AKA In The Frow for helping him to launch his career after being advised to “wait until the good photographers are too old to work”. “I looked at the life expectancy of a white male,” he joked. “And I realised I couldn’t just sit around and wait for something to happen, I just had to go for it.”

Lifestyle blogger extraordinaire Hannah Gale was crowned Blogosphere Blogger Of The Year. How does a blogger celebrate such a win? "With a big tub of Wasabi sweet chilli chicken." Congratulations to all the winners from Brandnation.
