Brandnation’s sport PR and fashion PR agency teams were out in force for the launch of Nike Swim’s bold new SS18 swimwear collection for men and women which the agency was delighted to be responsible for.
The exclusive launch event was hosted in The White Space in London’s West End and featured an ‘underwater’ fashion show to compliment the #EscapeToWater theme of the new collection. The backdrop to the fashion show was created by Brandnation’s in-house content team and featured innovative use of a specially edited brand video projected onto multi-walls in the venue. Stunning graphics created by Brandnation’s creative team themed and branded the venue and also delineated a 'virtual' catwalk to add to the carefully curated ‘immersive’ environment.
As for the new collection - this was enthusiastically lapped up by a full-house of over 50 specially invited UK media and selected bloggers and influencers. Post launch event Brandnation’s Sport PR and Fashion PR agency teams are busy maximising media coverage of the new collection in target print and online media as well as building influencer support and engagement.
Nike Swim’s SS18 collection succeeds in accomplishing the brands’ mission to inspire and innovate in the world of water. Whether for training, competition or pleasure, the SS18 collection offers a range of designs and styles for the consumer to engage with, in and around the water.
The collection focuses on a ‘less is more’ vibe. For women, a range of styles from Powerback to Spiderback ensure an effective performance proposition that unifies comfort and support. The collection also includes a variety of two pieces in lightweight, textured fabrics and array of colours.
For men, selections of performance chassis provide fabrics which offer durability and enhanced fits for coverage. Nike Swim’s everyday watershorts with built-in mesh offer ultimate comfort for active living.
Bold Nike branding, wrapping around the body, features on the performance swimwear, underlining a serious statement of swim intent. There’s also a number of patterns to choose from; for Spring, the design inspiration comes from ‘Bold’ (bold scales), ‘Textured’ and ‘Geometric’ (intricate geometric details and patterns) and for Summer, there’s ‘Fluid Rhythm’ and ‘Marble’ patterning; in colours of bright blues, muted pinks, aqua greens and a range of greys.
Range highlights include: ‘Rush Heather’, which evokes speed and brings texture to the water and ‘6:1Stripe’ that geometrically illustrates the six days per week that competitive swimmers train and the single day they take as rest.
An abstract statement print for Spring is a daring and confident combination of grey, black, blue and hues of pink and orange. For Summer, it’s black and white in a vibrant, layered optical illusion.
