31 July 2017
Following 12 weeks of hard training, Brandnation’s Sport PR Team celebrated the end of the 2017 Odlo Run Club at the Richmond Riverside 10k.
We were joined by a selection of national and consumer press, as well as regular members of the Odlo Run Club, many of whom were wearing their brand new Odlo Ceramicool Pro tops, to take on the challenge.
There was plenty of success with everyone crossing the finish line in under an hour and Coach Mag’s Nick Harris-Fry, taking the overall victory in Odlo blue. Proof of just how beneficial the 12 weeks’ of interval training had been.
Back by to popular demand, the Odlo Run Club is a partnership between Brandnation PR and Social Media client Odlo and the Running Bug, an online forum that allows sport enthusiasts to find fitness groups local to them.
With free membership and expert coaching, Odlo ensured that the Club was accessible to everyone. Thanks to strong press coverage and social media activation, press and public attendance by far exceeded 2016. The platform also served as a perfect way to create content and build Odlo’s running presence within the UK market.
This year the goal was to improve speed with the end goal of the Richmond 10k in mind. This meant less long runs and more intense bursts of intervals and fartlek (The art of speed play), a change that many of last year’s returnees admitted they preferred.
As an added incentive, Odlo rewarded those whose had attended nine or more sessions with a Cermaicool Pro Baselayer, the brand’s new product designed to reduce skin temperature by up to 1°C. We also provided exclusive goody bags for the first 20 people to arrive at the weekly meeting point.
The Odlo Run Club in 2017 served to be a great source of motivation and it quickly developed into a welcoming community of running enthusiasts many of whom were looking to meet new people in the city, and those wanting to progress their fitness abilities happy to share tips with others, whilst seeking advice from peers and gaining inspiration from others.
We are delighted with the continued success of Odlo Run Club and the growth of the community. With plans of meetups and race entries already in the pipeline!
