Silhouette, the world leader in premium quality, lightweight eyewear and a Brandnation client of over 12 years standing, hosted an exclusive dinner launch event at one of London’s top hot spots, Ham Yard Hotel, to celebrate the launch of the brand’s Arthur Arbesser x Silhouette designer collaboration.  

Despite being massively in-demand at the present time, Arthur himself was present at the dinner, organised by Brandnation’s Fashion Team, to illuminate the story behind the new collaboration as well as mix and mingle with the exclusive coterie of fashion media present, from titles such as Vogue, ES Magazine, YOU, How To Spend It and Sunday Times Style. All were keen to meet and speak to Arthur himself who, although based in Milan, is no stranger to London, having originally studied at Central Saint Martins College for Art and Design, where he quickly developed his own personal aesthetics influenced by his intimate contact with London’s prolific art scene. 

The buzz generated by the unveiling of the new designer eyewear collection matched the vibrance of the chosen launch venue, the bright and colourful Sherwood room.  The collection, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week in September, consists of four retro styles inspired by the lifestyle of Arthur Miller during the time he was married to Marylyn Monroe, boasting bright colours in glossy caramel, glossy purple, dark green and classic grey.

Born and raised in Vienna, Arthur Arbesser was deeply immersed in this fascinating city’s history and culture as he grew up and the city’s evocative heritage of applied arts and design remain a strong source of inspiration for him today in his design work. 

In 2013, he launched his eponymous women’s wear label during Milan Fashion Week,  from then his profile and influence has risen immeasurably. At the second edition of the LVMH prize in 2015, Arthur was one of the finalists and in June 2015 he was invited to participate at the prestigious PITTI imagine Fair in Florence as a women’s wear guest designer. He is renowned internationally as one of the world’s most promising new designers.

His personal style is sophisticated but at the same time full of energy enhanced by outstanding tailoring and the use of the finest quality fabrics – his silhouettes radiate a pure, yet sensual appeal of modernity – a perfect aesthetic to match the brand ethos of Silhouette eyewear. 

The Arthur Arbesser x Silhouette collection will be available in the UK from February 2017.
