Sports PR – Our Micro-Adventure With Wiggle Outdoors

Joined by a pack of adventurers, Brandnation’s Sports PR Agency team partnered up with wiggle.co.uk to create a micro adventure, as part of the brand’s 6am Series, an multi-faceted influencer activation campaign running across the run, outdoors and swim sports categories.

 

What is a Micro Adventure?

Micro adventure? Is that not just a normal adventure but shorter?

 

Defined as an overnight outdoor adventure that is ‘small and achievable, for normal people with real lives’, a micro adventure is the stress reliever hiding right under our nose. It doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t have to be brash, it just has to be different.

 

After experiencing the regular hum-drum of the nine to five city lifestyle, join the commuters, hop on a train and head for the hills. An hour or less later, arrive at your chosen destination ready to hike, bike or run to the camp and experience a night in the great outdoors. Don’t want to miss your train to work? Revel in a sunrise start before heading to the nearest terminal.

 

Fully buying into the concept, Brandnation and Wiggle decided to host our own micro adventure…

 

Social by 6am

Following the success of the earlier 6am Series run launch in Central London, where runners were challenged to show how they ‘Get There’ in the early hours, Brandnation created a commuter inspired influencer and press experiential for Wiggle. The event was centred around micro adventures to support the launch the retailer’s latest category, Wiggle Outdoors.

 

Hosting several key London-based media and influencers keen to escape the city hustle, Brandnation's Sports PR agency team partnered with adventurer and world traveller, Jenny Tough to lead to the troops into Battle, Sussex.

 

Upon arrival, the attendees including Outdoors Magic and Anna McNuff trekked to the camp, pitched up their tents and got stuck into the chilli and campfire tales – before hitting the hay to ensure an authentic 5am sunrise awakening.

 

Wiggle Outdoors

The trip allowed Brandnation and Wiggle.co.uk to showcase the launch of the retailer’s brand-new outdoors category. Influencers and press got to get close and personal with kit from market leaders, Jack Wolfskin, Merrell, Berghaus and more.
