An Alpine backdrop, a crystal-clear lake, blazing sun, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and Nike Swim. This is the life.
The Brandnation team has been out on Lake Annecy, France, helping Nike Swim activate their headline sponsorship of the Dragon World Championships.
The event is the world’s only dedicated, global team SUP competition which mixes fast, fun racing with a party vibe like no other.
The aim of the experiential was to inspire boarders of all abilities to hop on a paddle board and leave their worries at the lakeside. Brandnation put together a Nike Swim Dragon Race team including key press and influencers to enter the Dragon World Championships.
Ahead of the SUP race heats, the agency organised for yogi and health and fitness influencer, @KimHartwell, to lead a special SUP yoga session. Members of the press, all kitted out in Nike Swim’s SS19 range, found ‘their centre and balance’ to gain confidence ahead of the first heat of SUP racing.
After some essential coaching with Martin Le Tourner, a pro Nike Swim SUP ambassador, the team assembled to take on their first day of racing on a 22-foot inflatable Red Dragon board.
Going head to head with teams from across the globe, Nike Swim’s team was thrown in at the deep end and had to quickly learn how to navigate their way around a tricky course.
It’s not often that you can say that you competed in a global sporting event, and finished in the top 8 teams in the world, BUT, this is the exact achievement of the Nike Swim SUP team.
Attendees Men’s Health and The Daily Telegraph delivered high-profile feature coverage for the brand, whilst @KimHartwell created waves on social media.
