Brandnation’s Sports PR and Fashion PR agency teams were drafted in by Nike Swim to handle the UK launch of the brand’s new SS18 collections for men and women. The plan was to create a compelling launch event that would ensure the attendance and participation of key sports and fashion media and influencers and generate significant media and social coverage for the exciting new product lines as well as promoting the new season’s campaign theme #EscapeToWater.
To create compelling standout for the new range launch, Brandnation designed and delivered an immersive event experience that involved taking a traditional fashion show and positioning it underwater! We projected specially curated and edited water effect video material with video of the new ranges onto all the walls of The White Space gallery in London’s Soho to make it appear, once the fashion show started, that the fashion show was actually underwater, whilst a catwalk was marked out on the gallery floor.
On the night over 100 top media and influencers attended. The venue itself was decorated throughout with stunning visuals of the new product ranges in action in the pool and in the ocean – demonstrating the joy of the #EscapeToWater campaign theme. Products from the new ranges were present on the evening for guests to browse and select samples for photography and video for editorial features and male and female models from the catwalk show were around to model the various products including swimwear, accessories and leisurewear. Drinks and refreshments were served throughout the evening and on leaving guests were also treated to goodie bags packed with gifts.
The event delivered great coverage both of the event itself (with media and influencers sharing images of the event on the night through their social media channels) as well via products being featured in dozens of major product features in key titles thereafter.
