PR Account Executive - Sport & Lifestyle

We’re looking for a PR Account Executive to join brandnation and our dynamic sport division. It’s an opportunity to work on some of the most disruptive and respected brands in the industry including Zwift, Nike Swim, Merrell, Football Index, Columbia and Saucony. The successful candidate will have at least one year’s experience in PR and will be able to demonstrate delivering high-quality coverage for clients. Ideally the candidate will have developed an impressive list of media and influencer contacts in the sport and lifestyle industry across traditional, digital and social media. Role requirements:

  • Ability to effectively pitch stories, press releases and features by phone, face-to-face meetings and email to national, regional and specialist journalists across print, broadcast, online and influencers
  • Strong media contacts across national, lifestyle and specialist media in the relevant sectors
  • Strong creative writing skills – writing quickly and creatively to draft engaging copy for press releases, media mailers and media pitches
  • A solutions-focused and positive attitude with a hunger to develop and progress
  • Clear understanding of PR and influencer marketing and a desire to develop a career in this field
  • Time management – ability to work under pressure on multiple projects at one time whilst ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Strong organisational skills and an attention to detail

Role overview:

  • Day-to-day pitching on phone, email and in person to media – selling in news stories, features and product placement
  • Build a network of media and influencer contacts
  • Write press materials including press releases and media mailers
  • Daily monitoring of news agenda – flagging relevant opportunities and acting upon them
  • Monitoring and reporting on all client coverage
  • Follow all agency processes including sample management and updating press lists
  • Support organisation of attend client events across the department
  • Participate in agency brainstorms to support generation of creative ideas for clients

Senior Account Manager - Fashion and Lifestyle

This is an important role within the agency and will suit a creative soul who can also deliver on the details. The ideal candidate for this role will need to have previous PR agency experience as well as a proven track record of delivering campaigns with fashion, retail and lifestyle brands. Responsibilities will include:

  • The delivery of day-to-day campaigns and projects to budget and in-line with the plan
  • Working closely with the wider team to help deliver innovative / creative integrated campaigns, media relations, influencer activity, launches and events
  • Media relations; developing media lists, liaising with press at a national and international level. You need to be confident in picking up the phone and selling in to press as part of the team to gain maximum coverage
  • A proven track record of delivering multi-channel campaigns
  • Executing influencer campaigns and an understanding of the influencer marketing landscape
  • Understanding clients’ and competitors’ marketplaces
  • Support in Identifying new business opportunities

Key skills and experience:

  • A strong book of contacts/ relationships across media and influencer networks – 70% press / 30 % influencer
  • Excellent written skills and a love for creating contentProven experience in working with media at different levels and a desire to grow relationships that are lasting
  • Proven track record and a creative flair for executing events – big or small
  • Proven experience in executing influencer campaigns and an understanding of the influencer marketing landscape and reporting
  • An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at different levels internally and externally to the agency
  • A passion for PR and a team player
  • Strong organisation skills and able to multi-task

Our highly successful internship programme has been running for over 12 years and is accredited with major UK and overseas educational establishments. We have also employed over 50% of our interns. We aim to immerse our interns in every aspect of agency life. Working on live accounts, high profile brands and events with very little tea making duties, either.
