Brief

We were tasked with showcasing Columbia’s new OmniHeat technology jacket, a new collection with thermo-reflective properties, through creative storytelling.

The client wanted an idea that seamlessly connected earned media, influencer marketing, and content – our perfect brief.

We know It can get chilly up in the Highlands, but it can also be chilling.

We had an idea up our sleeves that put the Columbia product in its natural habitat…with a bit of a twist, of course.

The idea

Ahead of Halloween, we challenged one brave outdoor content creator and The Hike Society ambassador, Chris Knight, for the launch of Columbia’s new Omni Heat Infinity insulated jacket collection, to go alone into the wild and take on what’s known as the UK’s most haunted bothy.

Unsettlingly remote, eerily quiet, and unnervingly exposed at the best of times, there’s one bothy to rule them all when it comes to being haunted.

Riddled with horror stories and several accounts of strange goings on, Ben Alder Cottage is a forsaken homestead with a dark history, not even some of the hardiest of explorers dare tread the floorboards of this bothy.

In partnership with Chris, we created content across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube as well as securing earned media across national and specialist titles.
